Hi All,
MPUK have agreed to trial the Hardcore pickups.
So it`s time to take advantage of this and show them that we really have an interest in them.
What are they? :
Pickup games are like clan wars with "random" people. These are very useful if you are bored and lonely with no clan mates on and want a little bit more of a challenge than your every day public game.
It`s a great way to get some clan war experience, make new friends/contacts and also learn a tip or two from watching some of the better players out there.
Who should play them? :
Pickup games are open to anyone of any age at any time of day. No matter if you are Low, Medium or a High skilled player then you will always be welcome to play in them. So don`t be shy if you aren`t the best player out there, get stuck in and you might just learn something aswell as having a whole lot of fun :D
How do I take part then? :
To take part in Pickup games you need to access the IRC network, Quakenet. For those of you who don`t know what IRC is, it`s a chat system that has been around since nearly the start of the internet, its quite easy to use even though it may look complicated.
For those using Windows PCs one of the best programs to use is called mIRC and can be downloaded from :-

Download and install it. Run it
On the first screen enter your nickname or ingame name and press OK.

Next type /server irc.quakenet.org and hit enter.

Nex type /join #mpukcod4.hc and hit enter.

Once in you should type !add to say you want to play a game, keep an eye on the topic as it will tell you how many players are currently signed up to play. Once 10 spaces are filled then the server will be annouced that you should connect to and the ventrilo channel. You don`t have to speak on ventrilo but you need to be there.
It`s also possible after installing mIRC to open your Internet Explorer and entering the following URL into the Address bar :-
irc://uk.quakenet.org/mpukcod4.hc
